Bring your pets and join Cape Coral Animal Shelter as we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, at our 7th Annual Blessing of the Pets.

Please note: This year’s Blessing of the Pets will be held at a new location and will not take place at the shelter.

Join us for this FREE outdoor community event on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Wicked Dolphin Distillery – 131 SW 3rd Pl, Cape Coral, FL 33991. The blessing will begin promptly at 2 p.m. Please plan to arrive by 1:30 p.m.

People and pets of all faiths are welcome to take part in this special tradition honoring the animals who bring so much joy and companionship to our lives.

Each participant will receive a prayer card and St. Francis medallion. Guests can also capture a special memory at our photo station and pick up something sweet at the bake sale.

For the safety of all pets and guests, dogs must remain on a leash at all times. Retractable leashes are not permitted. Cats, small animals and other pets must remain safely secured in a carrier.
